Is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ 2.1Ghz or 4.2Ghz?

Are two cars travelling subsequent to each other at 70mph really doing 140mph if you supply them together?

No.

2.1GHz indicates frequency at which the CPU is working internally. Just because it has 2 cores, respectively working at 2.1GHz doesnt make it 4.2GHz.
dual core does not simply mechanism dual processor speed.

Computers with valid dual processors have multichip modules and are infrequent in principle.

so your dual core just have a duplicated chip attending simultaneously carrying out one process at a given time but still underneath one processor control.

therefore your 2.1GHz dual core is not the best impression for a 4.2GHz processor speed.

In performance its 80% close to a 4.2GHz but in principle its not.
Im assuming your pulling GHZ bad Intel if your pulling it off Intel , Im not here to marketplace intel btw, I use it personally , Intel have more key features , at hand 90% more game compatible next AMD , if you play a particular hobby like WoW they'll say aloud WORKS BEST WITH INTEL , they also have hyperthreading technology which enable you to do more , there largely better quality and tend of ending longer , from what i noticed you receive a better warranty with them also.....So if your going to pick a CPU Go next to INTEL Case closed :P
