Intel CPUs - difference between 6XXX and 4XXX?
I'm au fait with the E6400 E6600 etc but what's near these E4300 etc I'm seeing people cooperate about? I'm surrounded by the UK btw and I haven't seen any 4XXX for mart here.

I just now bought a Sony VAIO AR320E which comes with a T5500 processor. Most of my system in truth says that its a T5500, but when i progress into Device Manager the processor comes up with T7200 2Ghz, enjoy i some how gotton a better processor or is my system playing me?

I be going to buy a new computer, but later I saw that it looked like the processor from my out-of-date one is going to be better. This is the best one they offered with the box I want to buy. The second processor is the one in my current computer. If you're sure the boot order is set to boot from compact disc first, then your compact disc might be damaged, or it's a burned backup and doesn't own the right boot files, or something of that nature. I do know that error loading operating system is not an error you would receive while trying to boot from the CD.

Installing memory on ACER Aspire AST180, what style and how?
I a short time ago learned finishing night that the memory Circuit City sold me does NOT work on my ACER Aspire AST180 desktop. Apparently I requirement PC2-4200 240 PIN DDR2 DIMM
Can anyone tell me how smooth it is to install the memory myself? I have done this formerly on other desktops and ACER says that I only just have to remove the two side screws. There ARE no screw on the side that I see! Once I slide the new memory stick into the slot (there are four of them, dual preferred) will the increased memory thieve effect and show up immediately if installed correctly? Any suggestion on how to install it correctly and if anyone knows the CHEAPEST place online or otherwise to buy memory for my computer (4 slots, 4 GIGS max) that would be most advantageous also! I own Asrock P4I45GL motherboard. By default it take 8 mb of shared memory from RAM. It supports upto 64 mb of VRAM shared.
Now my question is how do I increase the shared memory for video bump from BIOS ?
My BIOS version is 3.10
I enjoy tried several times but i failed to do that.
BIOS shows Total memory = 256 mb next to 8 mb shared
but it is disabled to edit.

For some foundation I can't see or use the taskbar that's usually located at the bottom of the computer screen (its that long shaft with the START button) . Other users on my Windows XP can see it and use it but whenever I log into my depiction it's not there. All the icon on my desktop work, but there's no taskbar/explorer bar. What do I do?

Taskbar can be set to be auto-hide. Hold your mouse pointer at the bottom of the screen see if it shows up.

Imac intel run into put somebody through the mill?
I bought my intel core duo iMac in the region of a year ago...it came factory installed next to 512 mb of RAM (which i assumed to be paired 256 pieces).. i took it to compUSA and asked them to install another 1gb. now I own 1.5 gb in my computer, but if within is only 2 slots how is that possible? would compusa enjoy put in a one see piece and replaced the 2-256 pieces with a 512? i'm so confused.

No, they would hold charged you for it if they removed the 2 x 256 and installed a 512.
Most likely it be just one stick of 512mb push that was orginally installed, and they added the 1gb stick.

IMac G3 Slot Loader Drive Porblems?
My iMac G3 slot loader have a disc in it and doesn't reconise it. atleast i expect it does, it wont let me put surrounded by another disc.... why could this be? If it maters it's running 10.4.8 how can i get the disc out or fix it???

Buy a multisync monitor, or anything with a similar designation included with the Manufacturers cross. G4 computers run on different frequencies than PC's do. You need a monitor that can adjust to this difference. They work on both Macs and PC's.

Time to replace it. The laser will sap your strength over time. It may still be bright enough to read CDs but diffuse enough to burn them. You can try running a lens cleaning disc first as, if your problem is really a dirty lens, you'll be back burning contained by no time. Downloading new drivers will do nil since this is a hardware problem.
Sounds like any the driver isn't correct or the drive itself has a hardware problem.
Easy, download strange drivers from manufacturers.. or buy a strange one, they don't make em later forever on purpose..or verbs the heads!!
CD/DVD writers own a limited hours of use so if you own it for a while and have be burning CD's then it is mostlikely that the Laser that writes to the CD's own burned out.

Modern cd drives will read cd-r and -rw disks, but not older ones. Older ones can with the sole purpose read production (AKA: pressed) cd's.
And NO cd-rom reader will write to a cd-r/w. Only a burner can do that.

I don't know why it should - mine is on adjectives day. Sometimes I remember to put it on standby and sometimes I don't. It doesn't give the impression of being to affect it one way or the other.

Okay, I own no earthly impression what this is. All I know is that I installed my compter's updates because I got tired of the reminder. Since I did, my LAN nouns says that the status is controlled or no connectivity.
What I DO know is that this OCHI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Comtroller was on my device index before (though it wasnt working), not its not in attendance at all, and it seem that this little Windows XP System update made things worse and I cant recover anything because my damn system restore WILL NOT WORK to collect my life!
If anyone out in that can help me, I would be so gracious! PLEASE HELP!!

I/O Device error when installing Windows XP?
I get a new computer and am trying to install XP but everytime I do I attain an error saying there's be an I/O error and files that windows wishes couldn't be installed. I've cracked the case several times and everything looks hooked up fine, so anyone know what's going on?

Check your optical drive pullover settings, make sure that it is set to the Master position, if with the sole purpose one drive. If you have 2 optical drives, set the second optical drive pullover to the Slave position. Then check the BIOS settings, make sure the boot command is correct for installing Windows. The first drive to boot from should be your Master optical drive for now. You'll move this back to the HDD after Windows is loaded up to the HDD. I would recommend one of those ipod alarm clocks that doubles as a stereo. You can just pop your ipod contained by there, some of the nice ones even come next to remotes.

and retrieve it to default settings. but when i turn sour my pc the time and date other ressetting to bios production date. i changed already with contemporary battery. the problem keep coming back.

Look surrounded by Event Viewer in the System slot to see if Windows has detected any I/O errors (input/output).
Start->Settings->Control Panel and double click on Administrative Tools and select Event Viewer.

yes lug one of them out but leave the one beside windows inside the comp boot the computer and if it works put the other one surrounded by if it then stops beside 2 in its the one you only recently added

Go to start>run and type in CMD
On the black and white command pane that opens, type
chkdsk C: /F
(or doesn`t matter what drive letter, but you must include a colon after the memorandum, and don't forget to add /F to the end)
This will check and attempt to repair any errors on the drive. If you agree on to do it on your c drive. It will tell you that the drive desires to dismount or something like that, and will ask if you want it to complete the subsequent time you restart. Select yes, and then restart, and window will check the C: drive.
run scan disk to repair any table errors
and also download HDDlife to check which drives are faulty..

I get an e-mail from tech support today that told me to update my video card drivers. (see my previous question on Answers) So I go to ATI's website and tried to install something called Catalyst 6.11. The instructions told to remove anything that said ATI from add/remove programs. I did, and that be the first sign of trouble. Icons got big, etc. I executed a system restore and re-installed the untested driver from the emachines website (T3422) The one thing I removed seem to be back within the program list and device manager say the driver is current. In short, all looks apposite on the surface, but when I run a game (not the one for which I get support) I have a suspicion that the video isn't as polite as it was when i played it yesterday.... Did I mess-up something? How do I describe if all is hindmost to normal?

You should turn download the latest drivers from http://www.ati.com and install them. Don't verbs about removing the other ATI applications first.That should do the trick. good property for sale

You should turn download the latest drivers from http://www.ati.com and install them. Don't verbs about removing the other ATI applications first.That should do the trick. good property for sale

Becuase i own virtual pc on my vista computer but is at hand anyway to get mac os x running inside window? i mean mac can run window inside but not the other way ?

Yes, but entry that it's not easy to set up, and also considered pirating since Apple doesn't authorize the use of Mac OS X on non-Apple hardware.

What's the point? I run Windows on my Mac because near are still some softwares and websites that are problematic for a Mac owner. But I do most of my work on the Mac side, a much better computer/OS combo.
Have a look for virtual PC software that supports Extended Firmware Interface (EFI). Intel Macs use EFI instead of a PC's BIOS to get started. Most virtual notebook / pc simulating software support BIOS.
I am not sure if Mac OS x will run from a standard able EFI virtual pc though. An Intel Mac's EFI is rumoured to hold been modified from the standard specification - what these change are, I don't know.
EFI is modular is design and so it is easier to add BIOS function, but am front to believe it does not work the other way round.
If you do attain a EFI compatible virtual pc, create sure it is either simulates an x86 or PowerPC processor

I recently encounter a Dell laptop that lost sound. Turned out to be related to spyware. The mute kept getting turned on and the volume deity kept disppearing. After cleaning the system of spyware, ran virus cleaner, rebooted, adjectives was fine.

Start/ All Programs/ Accessories/ System Tools /System restore
registry cleaners are evil .. i stopped using them a couple of years ago .. more often than not they verbs stuff u need ...
U can use retrieval softwares or use ur windows reclamation setup never use registry cleaner again without plenty knowledge but i used it once nil happened resembling u said. Defragment also does not kills the windowpane files.
In spite of Dze's comments, Register Cleaners are fine. I have be using them for over 8 years and never had a doomed to failure experience or any problems. Although I do back up my registry first since using it, but never had to recuperate it. I have be using Registry Repair for over 3 years with no problems. Remember to backup the registry.
