Is a video card to blame for choppy video and nouns on a mac?

I own a 128 mb video card and when i try to play video on final cut and quicktime, its real choppy and stop-n-go.

Is in attendance anyway to fix this without buying a brand new card?

That is a pretty fat video card for a mac. I hold a 32 MB video on a mac mini with a 20 inch display. Unless I try full blind it works very capably. Maybe you are streaming, that relies on the download speed of your modem. Maybe your source media (DVD or hd) have corrupt or fragmented files. I don't expect the card is the issue all alone.

Do noe you own done additional carrying out tests, and you believe it is not the card; so be sure your software is the most recent versions and updates. Then repair preferences next to your system utility, and restart.Still problems? Try apple support forums.
Probably in the option in final cut.... Otherwise you will enjoy to buy a new video card....
Could be the video/sound card, but it could also be your codec. Download and install any modern codecs available for you're trying to play.
