I be trying to install Hoyle Board &Puzzle games onto my computer, and when it was almost 75% finished with one of the installations, an error message come up and said that a file name data3.cab was missing and it could not finish installation. Is this a Windows98 problem? Do I want to update my OS to fix the problem? I think I've see this message before on an elder computer I had. These games installed purely fine on my last computer that I give to my father-in-law, but this one I have presently, which is also used, is having this error message. Any guidance?
I enjoy a interview going on for an error message...?
A cab profile is a compressed installation file that the software developer used to require smaller number disk space. When you run the installation program it decompresses these files and puts them in their proper locations onyour strong drive. This error indicates that your drive is having a problem reading the disk. If this is on a disc try cleaning the disk. If this is on floppy disks I would contact Sierra for a replacement disk.
Hope this helps.
you are running windows98 pliz do us a favor and update to xp :)
